The Distance Education Accrediting Commission is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency. The Distance Education Accrediting Commission is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
NCU offers nationally accredited degrees that are accepted by many companies and governmental agencies. National accredited institutions like NCU meet the same rigorous requirements as regionally accredited universities. However, national accrediting agencies give NCU the flexibility to meet student needs and market demands. NCU can respond to requests in creating new relevant programs and adjusting curriculum in a timely manner.

NCU is an institutional member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CHEA is a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation. CHEA members include 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities. Institutional membership is limited to accredited colleges and universities.
American Council on Education
NCU is an institutional member of the American Council on Education (ACE). ACE is an advocacy group for accredited degree-granting institutions. ACE is consistently at the center of federal policy debates in areas critical to higher education. Because of our role as a convener of higher education associations and agencies, the higher education community is able to speak with one clear voice on vital issues affecting institutions and students.
Council for Adult & Experiential Learning
NCU is an institutional member of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL). CAEL is a national leader in the field of adult learning dedicated to expanding lifelong learning opportunities for adults. Institutional membership is limited to accredited colleges and universities.
