Philip ZerrilloZerrillo, P., Phd

Dr. Zerrillo, joined Singapore Management University in 2010 as a professor. He holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was the recipient of the University’s “Most Outstanding Scholar Award.” After a 7 year career in the Finance industry, Dr. Zerrillo attended Northwestern University’s, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business earning his Ph.D. in marketing. His dissertation proposal won the international Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM) award as the outstanding submission.

Dr. Zerrillo began his academic career at the University of Texas, where he won numerous teaching awards while teaching the marketing core, pricing, distribution and strategy courses at the masters level. Dr. Zerrillo’s teaching skills were well known around the world and he has designed and developed teaching preparation courses for faculty at numerous universities worldwide. Additionally, he has been chosen to deliver the graduation speech at universities on three separate continents.

Dr. Zerrillo went on to perform numerous administrative roles at the university becoming the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, and The Associate Dean for Executive education. During his tenure he oversaw the creation and development of numerous programmes which were delivered in a variety of formats.

Dr. Zerrillo has taught at many U.S. and International Universities including, Ayoayam Gaukin University (Tokyo), Emory University’s Goizutta School of Business, Hebrew University (Jerusalem), IMADEC University (Vienna), Thammasat University (Bangkok), and Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Business to name a few.

In addition to his academic duties, Dr. Zerrillo has a long history in consulting, having advised and worked with firms such as 3M, Accenture, Deloitte and Touche, LG, Motorola, Monitor consulting, Input-Output, Genentech, Baxter, Sequent Computer, Sea Gate Technology, Texas Instruments, and many more. Dr. Zerrillo has also been a founder of several start-up ventures and currently sits on the board of directors of several public and non-public firms.

Paul T. H. ChanChan, P.T.H., Phd

Dr. Chan has an interesting career as an academic, economic advisor, and entrepreneur. He is Co-Founder, Vice Chancellor and President of HELP University (Malaysia), and is also Co-Founder of HELP International Corporation, which is listed in the Malaysian Stock Exchange.

He read economics at the University of Malaya, McMaster University, Canada and completed his PhD at the Australian National University. Dr. Chan has a distinguished academic career. He was Chairman, Division of Applied Economics, University of Malaya. Dr. Chan was also trained in advanced leadership in the renowned Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Spring, Colorado, USA.

Dr. Chan is a member of Australia TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency). He is also a member of the Malaysian National Higher Education Council. In addition, Dr. Chan is also appointed by CSCSE (Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, MOE China) to be a member of Study Abroad Training Centers (SATC) Quality Assurance Counselling Panel. He is also advisor to several educational institutions in China, US, and Australia.

For his contributions to education he received honorary doctoral degrees from British and Australian universities. He is also a member of the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame of the prestigious Australian National University in recognition of his achievements in entrepreneurship. Dr. Chan is President of the Malaysian ANU Alumni and Chairs the ANU Alumni Scholarship Committee.

Dr. Chan has consulted to many international organizations. He has contributed to various Malaysian Government projects, including the first Industrial Master Plan and other national plans. Dr. Chan assisted in constructing the KLSE Composite Index and was Chairman of the Committee during 1991-2001. He has also consulted to many MNCs in leadership and strategy studies.

As an entrepreneur, he has been involved in different roles in the corporate sector. He has been director of public companies and has founded and managed several private enterprises. He is a regular speaker in international forums. Dr. Chan writes a column in Nanyang Siang Pau.

In December 2011 he represented HELP to receive the 2011 Forbes Award for the top 200 Asia Pacific companies below US$ 1 billion. He is also a recipient of the Education Innovation Award given by the World Education Congress (2012). For his contribution to education, Dr. Chan was awarded the Panglima Jasa Negara (P.J.N) by the King of Malaysia. This grants him the title of Datuk.

Randon WilsonWilson, R.

Randon Wilson began his legal career at Jones Waldo upon his return from service as an infantry Officer in Vietnam in 1966. At that time, he was one of eight attorneys. Now he is senior shareholder among over 75 lawyers presently at Jones Waldo. He has practiced extensively in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, sale of assets, corporate reorganization and major financing. He assisted in the formation of the Western Governors University in 1997 which was founded in the US. By the Governors of 19 U.S. states with present enrollments in excess of 57,000 students. He served as counsel for a client in a challenge of the line item veto law, which was struck down by the United States Supreme Court. He is known for having established three major cooperations in the sugar beet industry and assisting in the acquisition of 15 sugar factories across the United States. He was listed in the 2007 edition of “Chambers USA” for his work in corporate/mergers& acquisitions. He has represented clients in mergers and acquisitions, sales of assets, corporate reorganization and major financings.

Randon graduated from the University of Utah College Of Law.  He has been admitted to practice law in Utah and before the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the United States Court of Military Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He was honored by the Utah Bar Association for Distinguished Services to the Bar in 1989.

Randon has served for more than 25 years as a member of the Board of Directors of The Ireland Bank, an Idaho banking institute founded in 1892. He formally served as director of the Village Bank in St George, Utah and D.L. Evans Bank, in Idaho banking institute. He is a member of the Executive Committee of This is the Place Foundation, which operates This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City, Utah and engaged in numerous community and charitable endeavors.

Norma S. GarzaGarza, N.S.

Norma Sanchez Garza, C.P.A., is the founder of Silent Partners, a boutique firm that provides accounting and operations consulting services to small- and medium sized businesses and nonprofit organizations. In 2013, she became a founding board member of Literate Nation, a national nonprofit created to empower the nation’s citizens with the literacy skills needed to thrive in the dynamic, global environment of the 21st century. Ms. Garza served as the director of marketing and outreach for Olivia’s Place, a startup pediatric therapy center in Shanghai and Beijing, China.

From 2005 to 2010, Ms. Garza worked in Washington, DC, where she served as senior advisor to the U.S. Department of Education and as the executive director to the National Board for Education Sciences for the Institute of Education Sciences.  Ms. Garza co-founded the Brownsville Reads Task Force, a non-profit organization of community members and educators who joined to promote research-based reading instruction in the public and private schools of Brownsville, Texas. Ms. Garza served as a commissioner on the White House Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans Commission from 2002 to 2005 and as a member of the National Reading Panel (NRP). In 2000, “The Report of the National Reading Panel: Teaching Children to Read.” was submitted to Congress with findings on how to teach reading based on scientific evidence.  In Texas, she was a member of the Governor’s Focus on Reading Task Force, Governor’s Special Education Committee and Academics Goals 2000 Texas Panel. Ms. Garza received an undergraduate business administration degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and has practiced as a certified public accountant for over 25 years.

Kent MadsenMadsen, K.

Kent Madsen is a Managing Director at EPIC Ventures and has been a venture capitalist investing in seed and early-stage technology companies for more than a decade. Previously Mr. Madsen was a Managing Director at Wasatch Venture Fund, a firm with four funds, approximately $200 million under management, and investments in 70 companies.

While at Wasatch, Mr. Madsen also served as CEO of MACC Private Equities (NASDQ: MACC) and its wholly owned subsidiary MorAmerica Capital, one of the nation’s oldest and most well-known late-stage SBIC companies that has provided sub-debt and equity financing of more than $90 million to approximately 120 companies.

Previously, Mr. Madsen worked for Ford Motor Company.  He started in the Advanced Technology Group where he developed mathematical and computational models for optimizing vehicles’ aerodynamic and thermodynamic properties and systems. He then transferred to Ford’s China Operations. Prior to working for Ford, as a graduate student, Mr. Madsen taught Engineering Thermodynamics at the University of Michigan.

Mr. Madsen has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has a M.S.E. from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Madsen also received an M.B.A. from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Don BacchiBacchi, D.

Don is originally from Montreal, Canada.

Don began his career in education in Montreal teaching the primary grades focusing on his passion interests of music and physical education.

Don migrated to Australia in 1980 and has worked in the Fitness and Wellness industry for over 30 years.

His experience in the industry has covered almost every conceivable role from aerobics (National Aerobics Champion 1986), personal training, gym management (including a chain of 11 clubs), equipment design and sales. Eventually back to education as the Director of a Registered Training Organization Onfit Training College.

Don has held the Vice President position for Fitness Queensland as well as the Vice President position for the Inaugural Wellness Institute of Australia.

During that time and to the present Don has been involved with and driven by “projects of passion”.

Dr. Ajay Kumar SinghSingh, A.K., Phd

Dr. Singh is the recipient of the Gold Medal Best Business Academic of the Year (BBAY) Award in 2011 jointly with Ms. Shilpi Sahi. Dr. Singh also received the Prof Manubhai M. Shah Memorial Research Award Gold Medal in 2012 jointly with Ms. Nidhi Dhawan. Rotary International District Governor (3010) has awarded Platinum President Award for the year 2011-2012 for doing excellent work as President of Rotary Club of Delhi Maurya.

He is a Member of North Apex Body of AOL, American Accounting Association, life member of ICA, and Managing Trustee of ICA since 2010. He is the Honorary President of Divine Group of Institutions. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics, at the University of Delhi. Dr. Singh is topper at School, an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, and the DOC, DSE, University of Delhi.

Before joining the Department of Commerce (DOC), DSE, University of Delhi, in 2000 as Reader, Dr. Singh served as Professor and Director at the Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research (GGSIP University, Delhi). He also served as Professor, Head, and Dean, FMS of IAMT, NCR of Delhi (Ghaziabad) where he earned best teacher award in 1998 and 1999.

He is the Founder Editor-in Chief of ‘Delhi Business Review’ (2000-2014) and ‘PRANJANA’ (1998-2002). He is also an expert member of UGC & AICTE. He has attended, conducted, and organized hundreds of training and development programs. Dr. Singh is a certified trainer and healer from ESOCEN, USA. He has done the blessing course of Art of Living, Angel Healing from prithvigurukool and ACMOS healing of Paris.

He has over twenty-nine years of experience. His publications include: ten books, an  International Monograph, eighty-five research papers, twelve articles, eleven case studies, forty-three editorial reviews, two abstracts, and six book reviews published in leading national and international journals and conference proceedings. He has conducted various research projects, training programmes and delivered key note addresses. He has chaired technical sessions in conferences & seminars, acted as Chief Guest of several programmes and presented more than fifty papers in international and national conferences. He has travelled to various countries including: USA, UK, Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Malaysia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Switzerland, France, Thailand and Turkey. Under his supervision twenty-two Doctors Scholars completed their dissertation. Additionally seven Masters of Philosophy completed their theses. At present ten Doctorate Scholars, including JRF, are working under his supervision for their Doctorate degree.

Ir. Dr. Karl NgNg, K., Phd

Dr. Karl is a senior executive with nearly twenty years experience in Government and Industry. He has been leading efforts in strengthening Innovation Ecosystem within the National Digital Economy in Malaysia.

Dr. Karl is currently Director of Innovation Capital Division at Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) of Malaysia. His responsibilities include Entrepreneurship, Research & Development, Commercialization and Funding. He has advocated and implemented various policies and initiatives in Capability Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is also leading the national Big Data Analytics initiative (BDA) which aims to proliferate usage of BDA in all sectors.

Dr. Karl holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Birmingham (UK), an MBA with distinction and a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Charles Sturt University, Australia. Professionally, he is also a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Project Management Professional. Dr. Karl also sits in Public Sector Committees. He currently serves as industry advisors in universities including University of Malaya and INTI University. He is also a member of the Open Data Global Leaders’ Network. He has served as a Judge in Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Malaysia Award since 2011.
